Cancelling subscriptions
You can cancel an Akwa subscription at any time. The cancellation path depends on which payment provider processed the original purchase. Cancellation is always handled by the provider, not by Akwa directly, because that is what protects you legally and contractually.
Subscriptions remain active through the end of the current billing period after cancellation. You will not be charged for the next cycle.
If you subscribed via Apple (iOS)
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Akwa Pro or Akwa Studio.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
Apple confirms the cancellation by email. The subscription continues until the end of the current billing period.
If you subscribed via Google Play (Android)
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Tap your profile picture (top right), then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Akwa Pro or Akwa Studio.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
Google Play confirms the cancellation by email and the Akwa entitlement falls back to free tier at the end of the billing period.
If you subscribed via Stripe (card)
- Sign in to akwa.design.
- Open your Settings page.
- Cancel your subscription from the billing section.
Stripe processes the cancellation and your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
If you subscribed via Paystack (Nigerian market)
- Email hello@akwa.design from the address you used to purchase. Subject line: "Cancel Paystack subscription".
- The founder cancels the recurring charge in Paystack and confirms by email within 48 hours.
(Paystack does not yet expose a self-serve cancellation portal for Akwa subscriptions. This is being built in V2; for now the founder handles directly.)
What you keep after cancelling
- All designs you generated during the subscription remain in your account.
- All Tailor Brief PDFs and Cultural Design Breakdown PDFs you downloaded remain on your device.
- Catalogue licences you purchased separately are not affected by subscription cancellation; they are one-time purchases.
- Your account stays open. You drop to the free tier with limited monthly generations.
What you lose
- Your full monthly design allowance. The free tier reverts to a small monthly allowance.
- Tech Pack outputs (paid plans). Existing Tech Packs you downloaded remain yours; new ones require an active paid subscription or a standalone purchase.
- Priority access to new features.
If you cancelled by mistake
You can re-subscribe at any time through the same provider. There is no penalty or waiting period. Email hello@akwa.design if you need help re-activating.
